The MP voiced these concerns on Sunday following a skirmish between ODM and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politicians at a fundraising event in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency.
Referring to the chaotic scenes, the MP attributed the incident to a UDA colleague who began distributing employment letters.
“One UDA MP started dishing TSC employment letters and Kenya Forestry Services employment letters,” the MP explained the altercation’s origins.
Anthony Kibagendi, the Member of Parliament for Kitutu Chache South indicated that this issue would be addressed in Parliament.
“We intend to pose tough questions in Parliament regarding how certain MPs are seen with employment letters for specific government departments,” he stated.
This incident is not isolated; politicians from Kisii region have previously distributed appointment letters during events, Last year South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro claimed to have received 100 TSC employment letters for his constituency.
The National Assembly Majority Whip, while highlighting the region’s government benefits, disclosed that the letters he possessed were designated for South Mugirango constituents.
Months later, Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu also distributed TSC appointment letters during a funeral event in the Kisii region.
During one instance, a young man approached the platform and knelt before the CS, pleading for assistance.
“Are you a teacher?” Machogu inquired, and upon receiving an affirmative response, the young man was handed an appointment letter.
