In a press statement sent to newsrooms, Stanley Kiptis, the KNQA Council Chairperson, announced that Dr. Kande emerged as the successful candidate from the 12 shortlisted candidates who underwent interviews for the position.
“Following deliberations and careful consideration, the Council appointed Dr. Kande for the position,” stated Kiptis.
A total of 36 applicants had applied for the position.
The position was advertised on November 28, 2023, and interviews were conducted from February 27, 2024, to February 28, 2024.
While congratulating her on the appointment, Kiptis expressed the Council’s confidence in her leadership and hoped that she would steer the organization as effectively as she did in an acting capacity.
Dr. Kande holds a doctorate degree in Business Administration in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Education, all from Kenyatta University.
She has played a key role in the development of various national policies at the Authority, including the recognition of the Prior Learning Policy launched in March this year by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
