KWS Advertises 2024 Nationwide Recruitment of Cadets & Rangers

The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) on Tuesday March 19th  publicized the  recruitment of 1,500 cadets (Assistant Warden I) and rangers.

The recruitment process, as per the notice, is scheduled to take place across various regions of the country from Monday, April 15, to Friday, April 19, 2024.

KWS aims to employ 1,500 resilient and energetic individuals as Cadets (Assistant Warden I) – 150, and Rangers – 1,350, capable of enduring the rigorous training and deployment conditions in response to the prevailing wildlife protection challenges in the country.

The recruitment is open to all eligible Kenyan citizens without any charges.

Requirements for Cadets:

Applicants should be Kenyan citizens aged 28 years and below, in good health, and possessing a clean criminal record.

Academic qualifications entail a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with second class honors lower division in fields such as Wildlife Management, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science, Range Management, Veterinary Medicine, Criminology & Security Management, Tourism Management, Education, Sociology, or Community Development from a recognized institution.
Shortlisted candidates will undergo compulsory nine-month paramilitary training before deployment.

Requirements for Rangers:

Like in the case of cadets, ranger applicants must be Kenyan citizens with a valid Kenya National Identity Card or passport.

Applicants should be between 18 and 26 years old, physically and medically fit, with no criminal record.

Academic qualifications require a minimum grade of D (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
Unlike cadets, rangers must originate from the county of recruitment.

Successful candidates will undergo six months of mandatory paramilitary training before field deployment.

How to Apply:

Interested applicants for both positions should obtain the prescribed application form free of charge from the nearest KWS National Park/Station or download it from the KWS website .

Applicants must fill the prescribed form and submit it along with attached academic certificates, testimonials, and National ID Card/Passport at the designated recruitment center mentioned in the application.

Applicants are asked to present original academic certificates, testimonials, and National ID Card/Passportat the recruitment center for verification

KWS encourages National Youth Service (NYS) graduates who meet the requirements to apply.
